Samklangfunnet is the Bergen Student Society’s musical committee. Each semester they arrange everything from concerts to discussion forums and debates at Det Akademiske Kvarter (Bergen’s student culture centre), focusing primarily on jazz and classical music. At this gathering, experimental music is placed under the microscope, and in particular the concept of graphic scores. How do you play to an illustration? What is the history behind this method of graphic notation and what does it do to the music? The BIT20 Ensemble will be performing excerpts from their concert at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf earlier this year. In addition to this, BIT20’s and Borealis' Artistic Director, Alwynne Pritchard and Peter Meanwell,  will be talking about graphic scores and their experiences with them.
