Grieghallen is home to BIT20. Our offices, rehearsal rooms (and various other stuff) are all here and it’s where we sit all day long and hatch out our good ideas. But good ideas need inspiration, which is why we're extra excited about what's going on this particular Saturday: 

Grieghallen will be opening its doors to anyone who wants to come in and explore this iconic building in all its glory. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to invite everyone up to LydLab (Audio Lab) on the third floor, to help us create new sounds and explore contemporary music.

The lab will be configured specifically for the day. Rulers, flower pots, tubs, iPads – you name it – they’re just some of the rather random ingredients we’ll throw into the mix to create a conducive environment for you to discover an audio world we can guarantee you’ve never experienced before. In the lab there will also be a workshop where you can make your own instruments. To help you manoeuvre your way through all this, we’ll make sure members of our team of competent sound researchers are at your disposal, all of who have the handy prerequisites of a PhD in Sound and a master’s degree in fun.

When you’re done with your research project at the LydLab, you can take in a concert by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in Griegsalen – the perfect conclusion to an exciting day in Grieghallen!
