Bogoluchie on the road

Performance #1: February 9th 19:30

Performance #2: February 10th 16:00

The Njord Biennale takes place in Copenhagen in late January, when the darkness of winter rests heavy over Scandinavia. The gloomy Nordic light and the characteristic atmosphere that lingers in the air during wintertime is the perfect time to put Nordic music on the map, taking advantage of the darkness and mystique of the North to promote contemporary music of the region. Could it be that the darkest time of year, also provides a bigger room for contemplation in music, as well as more space for the understated, uncertain and uncanny?

Regardless, it's beyond doubt that the blue-grey tones of wintertime effects both human sense and thought. What better then, at this point, than a re-visitation with Swedish Djuro Zikovic' Bogoluchie. With its ancient, religious undertones, BIT20 brings an original and meditative piece to the festival in Copenhagen.
