This Saturday night, the Main Hall in Kulturhuset will be brimming with tonal highlights, musical absurdities and good vibes. Imagine a club atmosphere with live musicians spread around the floor and music that is both familiar, witty and virtuoso!
TIME SCHEDULE
Part 1:
at 21:00
Part 2:
at 22:15
Part 3:
at 23:30
The ticket is valid for all parts of the evening.
In three different segments, you can experience contemporary music in new ways, in various constellations of musicians and through several works. The first part introduces the classical tradition with melodic pieces and a soundscape in the direction of easy listening with a symphonic feeling. Part two enters into hardcore contemporary pieces where the music becomes more absurd and unreal. Finally, in an orchestral arrangement, you will experience music by the Spellemann Award winners / nominees Niilas and Vilde Tuv. The programme spans from melodious musical expressions to spectactular performance.
The eminent BIT20 Ensemble performs the music at this mini-festival with guest artists and good friends. BIT20 won a Spellemann Award for the album Exotica in 2019, and several of the works will be from the album. Welcome to a fabulous party and celebration!

A note on Synaptic Counterpoint by Rob Kelly:
Synaptic Counterpoint was composed it for Dr Jenny Greig who is a neuro-scientist (and saxophonist), who at the time was working on research for Motor-Neuron Disease (also known as ALS). She played all the sax parts, and Rob Kelly played the Bütones. The piece was originally released through Bandcamp, with all proceeds going to the Motor-Neurone Disease Association. They were also given a small grant by Kings College London (though whom Dr. Greig did her research) to make an animation for the piece, using animated images of real human stem-cells from Motor Neuron patients that she had created as part of her research. This Bandcamp page contains more info about the project.
Please consider making a donation to the important work of the Motor-Neurone Disease Association if possible.
