REMOVE TERMINATE EXIT is an extended performance-installation which is a vast process of emptying. A rebellion against public expectation for a grand finale. In fact, it’s a kind of anti-finale for white noise, electric guitar, ensemble, rain installation, electronics and empty space. It is the exposing of one layer of sound, of activity, of performance at a time – to reveal the hidden layers and finally the empty space beneath. Indeed, the totality of the performance – the contents of the piece and a sense of the space – can only be perceived through this successive removal of layers. REMOVE TERMINATE EXIT, in the words of the composer, is a kind of archeology of disillusionment. And if you’re wondering what on earth that could mean, come and find out for yourself.
